Throttle Body
The throttle body is the part of the air intake system that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine, in response to driver input. The throttle body is located between the air filter and the intake manifold. The largest piece inside the throttle body is the throttle plate, which is a butterfly valve that regulates the airflow.

Sizes
Quad 4 56mm
The throttle body from the 2.3L Quad 4 engine is 4 millimeters larger in diameter than the stock one on the 2.4L Twin Cam. This TB can be fitted onto the new LD9 with some rerouting of the throttle cable, and found for quite cheaply at your local parts yard.
MRZ 60-62mm
MRZ Performance sells big bore throttle bodies that are CNC machined to exact specs and polished for optimal airflow. You can get them in either 60mm or 62mm.
RSM 62mm
RSM, now Z-Spec, produces oversized throttle bodies. This throttle body has a 62mm opening at the butterfly plate, for far superior airflow into the intake manifold. PFYC sells these, or you can buy straight from Z-Spec. 10+ HP gains depending on your supporting modifications.
Overbored Stock
Rather than purchasing an actual bigger throttle body, one could also have their 2.4L 52mm stock throttle body bored out to 58mm at the butterfly, and then have a new butterfly valve installed for the wider opening.
The 2.3L HO throttle body can be bored out to 60mm. SMG or local performance shops that do this kind of thing are the only place this can be done.
